The different ways people, systems and artifacts are connected provide a wealth of data that if properly analyzed and visualized can provide important patterns of connections, ties, propagation of information, influences, enforcement/emergence of regulations and policies, interdependencies between actors, groups, etc. Social network analysis can be used as a tool for real-world experimentation to understand how different patterns (of whatever concerning actors’ social life) emerge, or as a way to allow systems’ reconfigurability by measuring how important, satisfactory or stimulating are different things shared between actors through their connections and how these result to actual behaviors.
