Aggelos’s research interests cover machine learning for audio, music and speech signals, with an emphasis on Deep Learning architectures, Dictionary Learning methods, Hidden Markov models and Dynamic Time Warping Techniques.

Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Informatics, University of Piraeus. Eva’s research interests lie in the area of computational intelligence, while her published work include journals such as IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, Applied Soft Computing, etc.
Harris Deralas
Machine Learning Engineer (2 MScs in AI and Mechanical Engineering) with 8 years industry experience in automotive R&D. Worked on developing and applying various machine learning algorithms, explainable AI and optimization methodologies to customer Big Data for use-cases such as EU customer segmentation/representative driving patterns generation and assessing the real-world energy consumption potential benefits of new technologies. Current research interests focus on AI applications in urban mobility and cybersecurity.
Fragkiskos Gryllakis
Fragkiskos Gryllakis is a PhD Candidate at the Department of Informatics, University of Piraeus. Prior to this, he received his MSc in Advanced Information Systems from University of Piraeus, his first BSc in Economics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and his second BSc in Computer Science from Athens University of Economics and Business. His research interests include graph databases, spatio-temporal-textual data management and analytics, big mobility data management and analytics, semantic trajectories and community detection.
Yannis Kontoulis
PhD Candidate at the Department of Informatics, University of Piraeus. Yannis’ research interests lie in the areas of machine learning and data mining, with an emphasis on Deep Learning Architectures.
Athanasios Koumparos
PhD Student at the Department of Informatics, University of Piraeus. Athanasios’ research agenda includes urban mobility, driver behaviour modeling, etc.
